This policy explains what information Buyer Check collects when you use the site or app, and how it's used. Buyer Check is operated by Slocombe Cars Ltd, trading as Buyer Check, of Burghfield, Reading.
What we collect

Local storage, not cookies
Buyer Check doesn't use tracking cookies. The vehicle details and answers you enter during an inspection are saved using your browser's local storage, directly on your device — not on our servers. This is what lets you close the app and come back to finish your inspection later. Clearing your browser's site data will erase this saved progress.
Stripe's checkout page, which is hosted on Stripe's own domain, sets its own cookies as part of processing your payment securely. This is covered by Stripe's own privacy policy, not this one.
How your data is used
Your name and email, collected via Stripe, are used only to process payment, issue a receipt, and respond if you contact us for support. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your vehicle and inspection details never leave your device unless you choose to email or WhatsApp yourself a copy of your report — that's sent directly from your device using your own email or WhatsApp app, not through our servers.
How long we keep it
Payment records are retained by Stripe in line with their own data retention policy and UK financial record-keeping requirements. We don't hold a separate copy of your inspection data — it stays on your device until you clear it or it's not renewed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since payment data is held by Stripe, some requests may need to go through Stripe directly. To make a request, contact us via WhatsApp.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops. The version on this page is always the current one.
